A Frosty Morning Leads To An Icy Storm

On December 4th, we woke up to the sky looking like an icy pond that had frosted over.  It was so amazing to look at and marvel at how the clouds had formed to give you the impression that it was a frosted over puddle or pond.  I though it was impressive enough to take some photos of.

Our frosted morning lead to a big ice storm the following day.  It started around 3 or 4 on the 5th and went all through the night.  We took this picture of our front walkway before going to bed around 10 that night.

It was a pretty impressive sight that we woke up to the next morning.  It looks like snow, but that is all ice.  Not a single bit of snow had fallen-just ice rain.  It was a bit of a shock because just a few days before it had been warm enough out for us to wear shorts and t shirts, but the girls were excited that school had been canceled (it ended up being canceled for 2 days) and that they could stay at home, relax, or play with neighborhood friends.  It was definitely a reminder that the weather here can be strange and unpredictable at times, but it was a great way to get us in the Christmas mood!
