For the past few years we have always either gone to an actual pumpkin patch, or to a place that creates something similar to a real pumpkin patch, to get our pumpkins for Halloween. We thought at first that we were going to have to get pumpkins from the store this year, but then I got an email about a playgroup our ward was having-at a pumpkin patch!! A local outpatient rehabilitation center had pumpkins trucked in and they set up this really cute "patch" in front of one of the buildings. I told Robbie about it, and since the girls have much more fun getting their pumpkins at a patch, we spent our family home evening the week before Halloween going to the patch and picking out pumpkins.
Gracie just kept looking around, saying that she would know the right pumpkin for her when she saw it.
Georgia just had a blast running around and looking at every single pumpkin (no joke), picking out one then deciding that another one further off looked better. We went through that a couple of times.
Gwen had a very specific type of pumpkin in mind this year because she already had a very specific design for her pumpkin in mind. She found one pretty quickly that she liked a lot...a nice oval shaped one.
The older three girlies sitting on one of the benches they had set up and decorated for the pumpkin patch. Genni was sleeping in her car seat the whole time and we didn't want to wake her up.
It was a fun and exciting family home evening!!
